What a wonderful city to be in when the sun shines, everyone is happy and looking forward to a great weekend. It is a great destination city and if you have a long weekend with friends I would definitely recommend this Tallinn.
I was covered up, with my panama hat, ordered from Ecuador... and looked like the so called archetypal Englishman abroad.. only no other English people looked like me.. but who cares.. I need to protect my skin; Olay '7 in 1' anti-aging cream with factor 30 is obviously the cream for me...
What I like about Tallinn, other than the wonderful buildings is that the city is so accommodating to visitors. We all come to cities like Tallinn not really knowing a huge amount of information. We come for lots of reasons but the city still has sense of wanting to help and be happy that people are visiting their city. How often when travelling to other cities or towns you are led to feel a burden on the local people? I haven't felt this at all here.
If i was in a group then my opinion may be different; I hope not, I don't think so.. I hope to visit again soon..
I actually like the contrast between historical Tallinn and contemporary Tallinn. Perhaps this is my architectural background but the city isn't just the historical centre that visitors come to experience.. it is the whole city.
Below are a small number of photos I have taken.. I'm sure that all the websites show all of the city...

So many buildings were built against the lower town walls; such a wonderful juxtaposition of collective security and personal purpose... |
